RMIT student Bridget Davies won last year’s Melbourne Press Club Student Journalist of the Year Award for a story about the mental and emotional trauma experienced by female police officers (read it here).
Her prize was to join Young Journalist of the Year Tom Minear on a trip to the annual Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) conference in June in New Orleans.
(Watch a video of Bridget and Tom discussing their experiences at the IRE conference.)
Entries are now open for the 2016 Student Journalist of the Year Award (for work published in 2016).
The 2016 winner will receive return airfares to Arizona, where the IRE conference is being held this year, registration to the event and accommodation.
If you’re a Victorian student who has published work in outlets available to the public in 2016 which shows originality, impact, quality and initiative, get your entry in for your chance to win a potentially career-changing professional experience!
Entries close at 5pm on 30 December 2016.
